Monday, Nov. 1: RTHMC Ch 4-6 Reading Journal Written Response is due Wednesday, 11/5; 2. Common & Proper noun practice sheet due Thursday, 11/6
Friday, Oct. 31: 1. Read RTHMC Ch 6-- as you read to think about how you would like to respond to the reading journal response question for your short writing assignment due next Wednesday-perhaps flag a quote or two you may want to use or begin filling in the optional planner; 2. Common & Proper noun practice sheet due next Thursday, 11/6 (which is our next grammar day since we don't have school on Tuesday)
Thursday, Oct. 30: 1. Finish reading RTHMC Ch 5 and answering the questions--begin thinking about your response for Wednesday's reading journal written response (maybe flage a quote or two you may want to use); 2. Common vs. Proper noun practice sheet is due next Thursday, 11/6
Wednesday, Oct. 29: 1. Read RTHMC Ch 5 and answer questions for Friday (It's a short chapter- just 15 pages);
*TIP* As you read, start thinking about what question you'd like to answer for your RTHMC Ch 4-6 Reading Journal Written Response due next Wednesday, 11/5.I suggest using post-its to flag a page or two with quotes you may want to use.
Tuesday, Oct. 28: 1. Continue reading RTHMC Ch 4 and answering the questions for class tomorrow; 2. If you have not done so already, please check out your progress report on edline and have a parent sign off saying they've viewed it by tomorrow.

Wednesday, Oct. 15: Read the Mildred Taylor Bio and answer the questions; Miss Manners word of the day assignment is due next Wednesday, Oct. 22
Tuesday, Oct. 14: Complete the take home portion of the Short Story Test. This take home portion is open notebook--you are encouraged to use the "Writing About Literature" referece sheet and you need to use your group's bullying story to find a direct quote.
Friday, Oct. 10: Study for Tuesday's short story test!

Monday, Sept. 15: Write a short paragraph (4-6 sentences) discussing the THEME of "The Truth About Sharks;" be sure to put the correct heading on your paper (see your purple Bromfield Writing Reference sheet in your Lit. Toolbox section. (This does not have to be typed, but can be if you'd prefer.)
Friday, Sept. 12th: Finish reading "The Truth About Sharks," and complete the characterization chart for the protagonist and antagonist
Thursday, Sept. 11th:
E Period: Finish the double-sided complete subject and predicate sheet
G/A/B/C Periods: Please finish the subjects and predicates TWO practice sheet (you do NOT have to do the "Next Step" section)
Wednesday, Sept. 10th: Please finish the subjects and predicates practice sheet (you do NOT have to do the "Next Step" section)
Tuesday, Sept. 9th: Plot structure chart
B period: Finish reviewing the terms and labeling the front diagram. Fill in the first three boxes on the back to plot out the story "Charles."
C Period: Fill in the chart on the back of the plot structure page with the plot of The Outsiders or Walk Two Moons
E/G/A Period: Fill in the plot chart for the story The Outsiders; if you're note sure guess and we'll discus it tomorrow. :)
